XI'AN, China, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- Xi'an, one of Chinese ancient capital cities and home of terracotta warriors and horses, is set to host a road running race in Daming Palace National Heritage Park on January 1, 2026 to celebrate the New Year.
According to the organizers, it only took the runners two hours to take all the spots in the race when the registration channel opened on Wednesday. Besides the 10km event, a 4km race is also included for family runners.
Daming Palace was once the largest imperial complex of the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD), a political and cultural center for 200 years before being destroyed in war. ■
