BUENOS AIRES, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- Argentina's economic activity reported a 5 percent yearly growth in September and a 0.5 percent monthly growth in the seasonally adjusted comparison, the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INDEC) said Tuesday.
This figure dispels market concerns about a technical recession in the third quarter, as September's growth is considered a key indicator of whether the country is entering an economic slowdown.
From January to September, Argentina accumulated a growth of 5.2 percent compared to the same period last year.
Fishing and financial intermediation were the main sectors driving the economic growth, while the manufacturing industry, along with public administration and defense activities, experienced declines in September, INDEC said. ■
